I actually love both of them. They are quite different to my others. My invitations tend to lean towards "cute" "fun" and "bright" but they are more for children/teenagers. It's nice to strip it back a bit and come up with more simple and elegant designs.

Etsy // Cupcake Toppers

Selling invitations can be hard. It's a tricky market because there are so many other people out there selling them as well. Coming up with a design that stands out from the crowds can be pretty difficult. I'm actually surprised that I've done as well as I have. 

I have been thinking about other "products" I could have in my Etsy store and I thought matching decorations that go with my invitations would be pretty cute. I had orginally planned on doing a whole set - with bunting, place settings, cake toppers etc - but I thought I'd try out something else first to see if they would be popular, or at least sell.

I went with cupcake toppers, because they were fairly easy to design and look pretty cute on top of cupcakes! Again, there are heaps out there, but I think the fact that they match some of my existing invitations makes them pretty cute. 

Who knows how well they'll go, but you don't know until you try! Back to the drawing board to see what other cute ideas I can come up with.

Etsy // Let's Party! Invitation

It's been awhile since I posted an invitation up on Etsy. Sometimes time seems to rush by and I'm not left with a whole lot to do my own design work. I've been sitting on this design for about a week now. Because it's a "ready to print" file, I was a little hesitant about posting a straight on image. I've had my work copied before so lately I've been trying to think of ways to share an accurate photo without giving away too much. 

What I love about photographing design work, is that it gives the customer a better idea of what they are purchasing. It's very easy for a design to look good on screen, but sometime it doesn't translate very well through print. I've also started a new "Ready to Print" range on Etsy which allows the buyer to download the file straight away. This is super handy because it's cheaper than the custom designs, and it means there isn't as much work for me to do.

Anyway. Here it is! I hope you like it. 

Etsy : Confetti Birthday Invitation

What's that? Another invitation?! You guys, I'm on fire! Well, not really. However, it's a pretty big achievement that I have designed two in the last two weeks. I'm hoping to keep this up and bring a lot more invitations into my store. It's a bit boring having the same ones all the time, don't you think?

Etsy: Woodland Creature Baby Shower Invitation

Guess what?! I'm back! That's right. I'm back on the Etsy designing bus and hopefully this is the start of a great year.

I was approached by someone who had previously purchased on of my 21st invitations for herself. She queried about a baby shower invitation and I thought it was a great excuse to get my designing cap on. This was definitely a bit more of a challenge as animals are certainly not my strong point but I really love how it turned out. Let's hope everyone else does too.

Etsy : Courtney's 21st Invitation

As you all know, this year I started my own little shop on Etsy. A little while ago, while I was customising an invitation, my customer asked me if I was able to do any other design work for her. Of course, I leaped at the chance! She was planning a surprise party for her friend (she is also an event planner, make sure you check out her sweet work here) so she was after a couple of signs for tables at the party.

Whitney was totally stoked with how it all turned out and I'm so glad! It's also given me a couple more ideas of what I can do in the future on Etsy.

I'm on Etsy!

Hello there! Well, I know it's been a long time coming but I've finally gotten around to posting about my Etsy store! 

After becoming sort of successful on Pinterest (and by that I mean that a lot of people liked one of my invitation designs) I thought it could be an idea to try and sell predesigned AND printable designs on Etsy. Basically, I load up the design, someone buys it, I customise it to their details and then they get their invitation emailed to them! From there - they can do what they like with it. This way, there is no extra printing or freight cost. Pretty easy really!

I'm still working on new designs - when I can find the time but so far so good! I've sold 7. Which is better than none. I'm hoping this is the start of something sweet.
